The Protocol — Protect Your Cervix
The Full Protocol

Protect Your Cervix
Protocol

What I did between appointments to become HPV Negative. 6 years and counting. This is the framework I personally followed, shared from my own experience. I recommend a minimum of 6 months of consistency.

What I Changed First

Six months. Non-negotiable. Consistency was everything.

Eliminated
Where to Start
  • Switch to low sugar mocktails
  • Find a bubbly seltzer to sip on
  • Tell friends you're doing a challenge
  • It will get easier as time goes on
Removed Alcohol
Suppresses immune activity, increases systemic inflammation, and stresses the liver, responsible for hormone metabolism and detoxification.
Nutrition01 / 06
Eliminated
Where to Start
  • Monk fruit is a great alternative
  • Choose the piece of fruit over candy
Removed Refined Sugar & Carbs
Promotes inflammation, disrupts blood sugar stability, and elevated blood sugar can directly weaken immune response.
Nutrition02 / 06
Eliminated
Where to Start
  • Almond, oat, or coconut milk are easy swaps
  • Cassava flour for baking
  • Rice noodles instead of pasta
  • Read labels for hidden gluten
Removed Gluten & Dairy
Both can contribute to inflammation and gut irritation. Gut health is closely tied to immune function and nutrient absorption.
Nutrition03 / 06
10,000 Steps
Where to Start
  • A walk after every meal helps
  • 10 minutes is better than skipping
  • I added strength 2 to 3 times a week
  • Take the stairs when possible
Daily Movement
Strength training to regulate metabolic health. Daily walking (10,000 steps) to improve circulation and lymphatic movement.
Movement04 / 06
Daily Practice
Where to Start
  • Start with 5 minutes a day
  • Box breathing for the hard moments
  • A walk outside counts as practice
  • Free meditation apps available
Stress Regulation
Chronic stress elevates cortisol, which suppresses immune response. Daily meditation and breathwork were non-negotiable.
Recovery05 / 06
Ongoing
Where to Start
  • Hydrate first thing in the AM
  • Address underlying gut issues
  • Add a probiotic
  • Gut friendly foods
  • Low FODMAP foods
  • Don't eat late
Gut & Digestive Support
I cleared digestive disorders like SIBO, Candida, and leaky gut. I eliminated food sensitivities, reduced bloating, and added a daily probiotic. Gut health goes much deeper than that.

Don't Overlook This

Addressing Underlying Conditions

Existing health conditions that go unaddressed can quietly work against your immune resilience. These are two I discovered in my own body that were worth looking into.

Primary Concern
Hormonal Imbalance
My testing showed high estrogen and low progesterone. Hormonal imbalance can contribute to inflammation and directly affect immune signaling. I used DIM, Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C), Glutathione, and adrenal support to help rebalance. Long term, I worked with a practitioner to investigate the root cause. If you have not had your hormones tested, it is worth asking your provider.
Worth Checking
Low Ferritin
Worth checking if you have not already. My ferritin was 6. Stored iron plays a role in oxygen transport, cellular energy, and immune cell function. Low levels can contribute to fatigue and a sluggish immune response. A simple blood test will tell you where you are at.

Suppositories & Escharotics

For cervical cell changes such as CIN1 or CIN2, some clinics offer topical support designed to support cervical tissue health. These are supportive, clinic-based approaches used alongside immune support.

Topical Support
Vaginal Suppositories
Botanical suppositories applied topically to support cervical tissue health. Commonly used alongside immune support for CIN1 and CIN2. Ask a naturopath or provider experienced in cervical care.
Clinic-Based
Escharotic Treatments
A non-surgical option for cervical cell changes available at specialized clinics. I have gathered verified and successful clinics to recommend.
Verified Clinic
Shalva Clinic
Shalva Clinic specializes in escharotics for cervical dysplasia and HPV. Shalva offers complimentary phone consultations for anyone exploring non-surgical options.
Something to Consider

Possible Re-Exposure

Specialists explained to me that in relationships without protection, the cervix may continue to be exposed to the virus. Because of this, recommendations sometimes include:

  • Both partners actively supporting immune health during the healing phase
  • Temporary condom use while focusing on immune recovery
  • Open conversation with your partner about shared health during this time
Couple supporting each other through immune recovery
Man supporting his immune system
Something to Consider

Can Men Take the Supplements Too?

If a male and female partner are sexually active, they both carry the virus. Men can support their immune system as well. I would address the virus together and eliminate it as quickly as possible. HPV does not discriminate by gender and neither should the approach to fighting it.
