Protect Your Cervix

Know It.
Own It.
Protect It.

The protocol that changed my life to finally become HPV negative

Protect Your Cervix
Stigma Stops With Conversation

80 to 90% of the population will get HPV at some point in their life.

Low Risk HPV
Low risk strains do not carry the same cancer risk but they still deserve attention and immune support.
High Risk HPV
High risk strains are linked to cancers in both women and men. Knowing your strain matters.
Cervical Cell Changes
Abnormal cells can progress to precancerous and then cancerous. Early awareness and action is key.

After an abnormal Pap smear I was told to wait and watch. I did. They said my immune system would clear it on its own. No one ever checked my immune system. I was positive year after year as my abnormal cells progressed. After a stage 1 cancer diagnosis I realized no one had ever told me there was another option. I got to work, addressed the root causes, and have been HPV negative for 6 years. Now I am on a mission to share every proactive step I took so that others have a real alternative to waiting, watching, or going straight to surgery to address a symptom without ever finding the cause.

Understanding A Diagnosis

When I received my results, I had no idea what any of it meant. Here is what I learned about how to read your results and what questions I wish I had asked.

Starting Questions I Can Ask

Do I have high-risk HPV?
What to Know
  • HPV strains are identified by number
  • A Pap smear is not always paired with an HPV test
  • Testing standards vary by country and provider
  • If no HPV test was run, advocate for one
Are there abnormal cervical cell changes?
What to Know
  • A Pap smear or biopsy shows whether cell changes are present
  • Understanding the grade can help inform the next steps
  • If a provider dismisses concerns, a second opinion is always a valid option

Pap Smear Results

This is what I learned about Pap smear results. They screen for cellular changes and generally fall into two categories:

Low Grade
LSIL
Low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion
Mild cellular changes that can be associated with HPV. Every case is different. Repeat testing is one option worth discussing with a provider who takes concerns seriously.
High Grade
HSIL
High grade squamous intraepithelial lesion
More significant cellular changes requiring closer monitoring or treatment. A biopsy is recommended.
Worth Knowing
APTIMA
Seeing APTIMA on your results?
  • An additional HPV test that some labs run
  • Shows whether the virus is actively expressing, not just present
  • Not all labs offer it
  • A positive result can support a provider's decision around monitoring and follow up

Understanding Results & Biopsies

If a biopsy is taken, results are graded by severity. Based on my own experience and research, here is what I learned and what I would personally focus on at each level:

HPV+
HPV Only
ASCUS
ASCUS
CIN1
Mild
CIN2
Moderate
CIN3
Severe

Medical Evaluation Required

CIN3 requires prompt medical evaluation. Care should be guided by an experienced provider or specialized clinic. Lifestyle and immune support can complement medical care, not replace it.

Something to Consider
Can Men Take the Supplements Too?

Yes, absolutely. If a male and female partner are sexually active, they both carry the virus. Men can support their immune system in exactly the same way. The goal is to address the virus together and eliminate it as quickly as possible. HPV does not discriminate by gender and neither should the approach to fighting it.

Going Further

Non-Invasive Topical Options for the Cervix

For those with cervical cell changes, there are non-surgical, non-invasive topical options worth knowing about. These are not treatments. They are supportive, clinic-based approaches used alongside immune support.

Topical Support
Botanical Cervical Suppositories
Topical botanical products applied directly to the cervix to support tissue health. Used alongside immune support, particularly for those with mild to moderate cell changes. Available through naturopaths experienced in cervical care.
Clinic-Based
Clinic-Based Topical Procedures
Some specialized clinics offer in-clinic topical applications using botanical compounds. A non-surgical option for cervical cell changes, available at verified clinics with experience in cervical care. See the resource section below.
